Western Odisha on Focus: Naveen Doubles Annual Grant to Rs 200 Cr
Bhubaneswar: In a bid to accelerate the development of Western Odisha, Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik today doubled the annual grant to the Western Odisha Development Council (WODC).
The annual budget of the WODC was Rs 3 crore in 1999-2000 when BJD came to power. It was subsequently increased to Rs 100 crore.
The annual budget will now be Rs 200 crore after the announcement of the Chief Minister.
Meanwhile, Patnaik has directed the official concerned to set up offices of the council in 10 districts of Western Odisha and Athamalik to implement the development projects in more effective way in the region.
