Bhubaneswar: With the Covid-19 Vaccination program in the country progressing steadily, by the end of seventh day on Friday, Odisha was leading in terms of percentage of vaccine coverage. The state which surpassed its target for vaccination for the second consecutive day on Friday has administered vaccines to 1, 21,004 beneficiaries by the end of Friday thereby leading the country in terms of vaccine coverage percentage. Odisha’s coverage percentage has been at 83 percent surpassing that of states like Karnataka, Telangana and Andhra Pradesh.
While Karnataka remains on the top of the chart in terms of number of people vaccinated at 1,82,503, Andhra Pradesh and Telangana administered the doses to 1,27, 726 and 1,02,724 people respectively.
The cumulative number of healthcare workers vaccinated against COVID19 in the country has surpassed 12.7 lakh till 6 pm Friday through 24,397 sessions, as per the provisional report. On Friday, 2,28,563 beneficiaries were vaccinated till 6 pm through 6,230 sessions, the seventh day of nationwide COVID19 vaccination. According to PIB, about 267 cases of Adverse Effect After Vaccination (AEFI) have been reported till 6 pm on the seventh day of the vaccination drive.
