Working For Their Swabhiman: Teachers and Officials Dare The Terrain To Reach Out to Rural Areas

Malkangiri: The images given above are not of persons on vacation taking a leisure trip in the adventurous terrain or trekking horseback rides for pleasure. Neither the place is any park or an urban polo ground. The images are from one of the remotest places of India and the subjects are teachers and officials who are doing their duty.

Riding the horse is one of the CRCCs of Malkangiri District who is on a visit to the schools situated in the interior areas of the Swabhiman area. The photos were captured when the Cluster Resource Center Coordinator(CRCC) belonging to the education department, Sadhan Sarkar took to horse riding and boat journey to reach out to the remotest schools of Papermetla village. Despite the Gurupriya Setu connecting the major villages of Swabhiman area, a number of small villages are still not reachable by road. And hence, the official had to trek all the way through rough terrain. While the commitment of the CRCC is appreciated by one and all, it would be an inspiration to all those who want to work for the betterment of the society.

Another instance of the same area has also attracted the attention where a teacher has committed himself to do his duty to the best of his ability. The teacher of Jantapai school in Papermatla village is the talk of the town in the area for his style of teaching. While for many years teacher refused to work in the remote villages of Swabhiman area, Harihar Behera has set an example for the fraternity. With his own style of teaching he has won the hearts of not only the students but also their parents.
