Bhubaneswar: The findings from the first phase of the serological survey in Bhubaneswar establish that 1.4 percent population of the city at the community level has developed Covid-19 antibodies.
The survey was carried out earlier in the month of June. Interacting with the media, RMRC Director Sanghamitra Pati has said that Serological survey was conducted in Bhubaneswar in two parts – survey of the community and survey of high risk groups like Covid warriors etc.
At the community level, the survey found 1.4 percent people have the antibodies. Generally, it takes about 4 weeks for a virus infected person to develop antibody after getting cured.
She said, the findings have already been shared with the Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation. In the high risk category also, the findings indicate a similar percentage of antibody development.
Pati also informed that the second phase of the serological survey will be carried out from 16 August and is more significant as it will show the infection status in the capital for July during which Bhubaneswar reported an increased number of Covid-19 positive cases.
