Sambalpur: Intensifying the fight against the Coronavirus, the present isolation ward at VIMSAR Burla to be developed into a 100-bedded COVID Hospital with 20 ICUs and oxygen facility within 10 days, informed Chief Secretary Asit Tripathy.
Following the direction of Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik, Chief Secretary along with Additional Chief Secretary Health and Family Welfare Pradipta Kumar Mohapatra visited Sambalpur and VIMSAR today morning and reviewed the COVID situation.
“The isolation ward in VIMSAR is not sufficient enough and a full-scale COVID hospital will be developed with a capacity of 100 bed with ICU facilities. It will be done very shortly within 10 days, Chief Secretary said, after review meeting.
Chief Secretary further said that the govt will provide all support to the district administration to set up the facility. The hospital will also have oxygen piping, ICU & OT facilities in a phased manner.
The Cheif Secretary also lauded the District Administration and the Police Department for their selfless contribution to the COVID-19 management in Sambalpur district.
