Bhubaneswar: As many as 124 dengue cases have been reported in Odisha, according to the State Public Health Director Niranjan Mishra.
Dengue is a mosquito-borne viral infection. During monsoon more positive cases are reported. At least 3,484 samples were tested till yesterday. Of the total 124 persons have been found positive for the mosquito-borne viral infection, he said.
Though dengue cases being reported in 17 districts, Khordha is witnessing a rise in positive cases, he said.
Khordha has registered the maximum number of 48 dengue cases followed by Koraput with 19 cases, Puri 18 cases and Malkangiri 12 cases.
All steps have been taken by the department for the protection of the general public. However, the public also needs to be more careful and take precautions, he added.
