Bhubaneswar: As many as 304 villages in Odisha’s Ganjam district will get piped drinking water supply.
In a significant move, the Odisha Cabinet, chaired by Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik, today approved major rural piped water supply projects worth Rs 325.75 crore for the district.
The projects will ensure supply of safe drinking water to nearly 304 villages of four blocks.
The drinking water projects will be developed in Rangeilunda, Chatrapur, Khallikote and Ganjam blocks in the district at the cost of Rs 325. 75 crore.
More than 6.6 lakh people of 304 villages under 86 GPs in the four blocks will be benefited from the projects, which are expected to be completed in two years.
The State Cabinet also approved several drinking water projects in three other districts, such as Rayagada, Kandhamal and Boudh.
