Bhubaneswar: Amid cyclone Jawad warning, the Odisha Government has allowed 40 boats with fishermen of Andhra Pradesh to berth in Gopalpur port in Ganjam district.
The Andhra fishermen have been provided with all shelter facilities, informed Odisha Special Relief Commissioner (SRC) PK Jena.
“Cyclone Jawad, 40 boats with fishermen of Andhra Pradesh have been allowed to berth in Gopalpur port and being provided with all shelter facilities,” Jena tweeted.

In view of cyclone Jawad that is taking shape in Bay of Bengal, the State Government has asked district administrations of coastal districts to evacuate people living in kutcha houses and low lying areas.
Meanwhile, 240 teams of NDRF, ODRAF, Fire Services Teams have already been deployed to possible cyclone affected districts to assist local admin in response, rescue and relief action, the SRC stated.
