Bhubaneswar: In a remarkable feat for the Odisha Government, 75 per cent of required land within 75 metres radius around Srimandir has been sold voluntarily by the private parties accepting the govt package within 40 days, said a release from CMO office.
In a message, Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik addressing people said, “Your sacrifice and dedication for Lord Jagannath and Srimandir will always be remembered by the people of Odisha.”
The Chief Minister also thanked the people of Puri for their cooperation in the land acquisition process for the development of heritage security zone around Srimandir.
“On the auspicious occasion of Janmasthami, I had appealed you all to cooperate in the land acquisition process around the Srimandir for its security. I am grateful that you all kept my request and I am obliged for that, said Naveen.
The Chief Minister again appealed the people to cooperate in transforming Puri into a World Heritage City.
He also thanked the Puri district administration, officials of other departments and police personnel for working tirelessly, even on Sundays, for the government’s vision.
