Bhubaneswar: 5T and Nabin Odisha Chairman Kartik Pandian on Tuesday attended the ‘Dwadasha’ ritual of former MLA Khalikote Rani V. Sugnana Kumari Deo held at RCM Science College, Khallikote.
The 5T Chairman paid his humble tributes to the veteran BJD leader. He also met the family members and relatives of Sugnana Deo and local people.
Remembering the late leader, the 5T Chairman said that Sugnana Deo had served this region for many decades as an unopposed political leader of Ganjam.
Due to her personality and service attitude, she had earned the respect of all cutting across party lines. Her family played an important role in the formation of a separate Odisha state and its development, Kartik Pandian added.
On the occasion, Finance Minister Bikram Keshari Arukha has unveiled a commemorative postage stamp in honour of the late leader.
