5T Chairman Reviews Various Developmental Works in Mayurbhanj Dist, Attends Nua-O Programme

Baripada: On the direction of Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik, 5T and Nabin Odisha Chairman Kartik Pandian on Tuesday visited Mayurbhanj and reviewed various developmental works in the district.

During his visit, the 5T Chairman interacted with the students at the university stadium in Baripada and inspired them to join in building a new Odisha.

Attending the Nua-O programme, Pandian said that the programme has created great opportunities for the youth. This programme will help them to showcase their talents as well as develop their overall personality. The students can also achieve remarkable success in study. It is the guidance of the teacher that leads to success in the life, the 5T Chairman told the students while citing the example of the ancient Guru-Shishya tradition.

During his visit, Pandian reviewed the Subarnarekha irrigation project in the district. 2,70,900 acres of agricultural land can be irrigated through this project, which is being implemented at the cost of Rs 10,210 crore. The review revealed that the first phase of the project will be completed by May 2024 and the second phase by June 2028. The 5T Chairman also reviewed several major irrigation projects being implemented at the cost of Rs 3282 crore.

He then reviewed the ongoing construction of a river embankment and ring road over Budhabalanga River at Baripada. Rs 154 crore is being invested for this. Along with this, Ghat Road will be constructed at a cost of Rs 72.63 crore, construction of a large bridge over Budhabalanga River at a cost of Rs 48 crore at Baripada, a 650-bed Pandit Raghunath Murmu Medical College and Hospital under construction at a cost of Rs 306 crore and a cancer hospital at a cost of Rs 47.35 crore at Baripada.

Pandian also reviewed some of the projects initiated after his earlier visit to the district.
