Puri: 5T and Nabin Odisha Chairman VK Pandian made an early morning review of the Srimandir Parikrama Project in the pilgrim city of Puri.
Pandian reached Puri at 4.30 am to take stock of progress of the ambitious project.
He ordered the concerned authorities to speed up the project work to complete it by December 15. He also directed to accelerate the renovation works of the various Mathas in Puri.
The 5T Chairman advised all stakeholders to work cooperatively by giving importance to the history and tradition of the Mathas during the renovation.
He also advised the officials to include native varieties of trees and plants that are associated with Jagannath Culture in the landscaping works under the Heritage Corridor Project. Pandian also took stock of the works related to the four entrances.
VK Pandian directed the officials present to make adequate arrangements for parking of two wheelers for the convenience of the local people. In addition, he stressed the importance of shifting the various utilities from near the Meghnad wall and completing the Electricity works of the project on schedule.
He also reviewed the progress of the Jagannath Ballabha parking works and the various amenities for the visitors, Pramod Udyana and the Sri Setu work and directed the officials to complete the work on schedule.
During the review, Puri Collector, SP, MD OBCC and officials of various executing agencies were present.
