Bhubaneswar: In yet another step to improve overall performance, infrastructure development and functioning of government-run medical colleges and hospitals, the Odisha Government today appointed senior IAS officers as Co-ordinating Officers for 13 state-run medical colleges & hospitals.
Suresh Chandra Mahapatra, Development Commissioner -cum- Additional Chief Secretary has been appointed as coordinating officer of Sundargarh Medical College & Hospital (NTPC) and Veer Surendra Sai Institute of Medical Science & Research, Burla.
Similarly, Pradipta Kumar Mohapatra, Agriculture Production Commissioner will coordinate the two medical colleges namely, Fakir Mohan Medical College & Hospital, Balasore and MKCG Medical College & Hospital, Berhampur.
Raj Kumar Sharma, Additional Chief Secretary and Dr. Mona Sharma, Principal Secretary, Forest & Environment Dept have been appointed as coordinating officer for Government Medical College & Hospital, Keonjhar and Jajpur Medical College & Hospital respectively.
While Anu Garg, Principal Secretary, Labour & ESI & W&CD Department will co-ordinate the Angul Medical College & Hospital (MCL), Nikunja Bihari Dhal, Principal Secretary, Revenue & D.M. Department will discharge the same responsibility for Kandhamal Medical College & Hospital and Santha Bhim Bhoi Medical College & Hospital, Bolangir.
Likewise A.K.K.Meena, Principal Secretary, Finance, Surendra Kumar, Principal Secretary, Water Resources Department, Hemant Sharma, Secretary, Industries Department, Dr.Krishan Kumar, Secretary, Works Department have been appointed as coordinating officer for Saheed Laxman Naik Medical College & Hospital, Koraput, Pandit Raghunath Murmu Medical College &Hospital, Baripada, Mayurbhanj, Government Medical College & Hospital, Bhawanipatna and Shree Jagannath Medical College &Hospital, Puri respectively.
