Puri: 5T Secretary V K Pandian today reviewed the progress of the Jagannath Ballav Pilgrim Center and Shree Setu Project in Puri. He visited the project site of the Jagannath Ballav Pilgrim Center and inspected the various ongoing construction works. He also interacted with Collector Samarth Verma and other officials regarding the early completion of the project. Pandian also reviewed the ongoing Shree Setu project that is being developed to create a new link road connectivity from Puri By-pass to the Jagannath Ballav Pilgrim Centre.
Both the projects are going on in full swing and once completed they will be the major pilgrim amenities infrastructure of Puri. Being part of the Puri Heritage Corridor Project, and developed under the ABADHA scheme, the Jagannath Ballav Pilgrim Center will have a modern state of the art multi-level car parking, a reception center, cloakrooms, and bathing complexes. The project is situated just 500 meters away from the Lord Jagannath temple. This is one of the most important parts of the ambitious Heritage Corridor Project and is being directly monitored by 5T Secretary V K Pandian. The Project is situated on a land parcel of 5.73 acres and entails a construction area of 9,55,953 square feet.
The Shree Setu Project will ease the traffic and congestion problems in Puri. The project is being developed with an expenditure of Rs 190 crore. The 1.5 kilometer long and 60 meters wide bridge will have a trumpet interchange with access control.
