Bhawanipatna: Happiness of three students from Kerokuda Ashram School in Kalahandi district knew no bounds as they got an opportunity to spend a day with district Collector Dr. Gavali Parag Harshad on Thursday.
In an initiative to inspire and motivate the students to do better in their career, Parag Harshad decided to spend a day with the children to know their aims and aspiration in life and guide them accordingly.
The Collector, who was
incredibly curious to learn these young minds, greeted the children upon their arrival to his office and spent quality time with them.
After hearing their career plans, Parag Harshad arranged field visit for the students to different government offices, such as ICDS and Collectorate where they interacted with the officials.
The students also participated in programme organized by the health department in Narla block.
Hemawati, a class 8th student, told the Collector that she wants to be a doctor. She got to interact with an Eye specialist and ENT specialist.
Similarly, Makardhwaj, a class 8th student, said that he wants to become a Police Commissioner. He got to meet the superintendent of police.
The Collector and SP had lunch with the students.
Parag Harshad encouraged them to work hard to achieve goals in their life before they left for their school.
The Collector has decided to spend a day with the students every month.
