Angul: In response to the second wave of corona pandemic, the Angul district administration has rolled out Emergency COVID-19 Auto Service Ambulance Service for patients seeking transportation from their homes to health centers.
Dubbed as the first of its kind service in Odisha, the Emergency COVID-19 Auto Ambulance Service will be available in all blocks of the district free of cost and will be highly helpful for the serious symptomatic persons in reaching healthcare centres.
Talking about the initiative, Angul Collector Siddharth Shankar Swain said that the basic purpose of the Emergency COVID-19 Auto Ambulance Service is to save time in ensuring a patient reaches an oxygen availability point or medical centre especially in far off areas.
The ambulance service will make it easier for serious symptomatic persons to get medical assistance at the earliest, he added.
The Sarpanches have been authorized to have one such vehicle with segregation in center and all Covid safety measures.
