Angul: Former Junior Clerk Sentenced to 3 Yrs Imprisonment in Bribery Case 

Angul: A former junior clerk at Tahasil Office in Angul district has been sentenced to three years of rigorous imprisonment in a bribery case.

Pankajini Biswal, former junior clerk, Tahasil Office, Angul, and currently junior clerk at Collectorate , Angul, who was charge sheeted by Odisha Vigilance in Cuttack Vigilance for demanding and accepting bribe from a Complainant in order to process file in respect of two mutation cases for issuance of ROR (Patta), was convicted by Special Judge, Vigilance, Angul.

She has been sentenced to undergo rigorous imprisonment for a period of three years and fine of Rs 5,000 and in default of payment of fine, to undergo further rigorous imprisonment for a period of 2 months for the offence U/s 13(2) r/w 13(1)(d) of the PC Act, 1988, the Vigilance said.
