Bhubaneswar: The annual matriculation summative examinations conducted by the Odisha Board of Secondary Education commenced today. Along with the Matric, Madhayama and State Open School Certificate (SOSC) examinations have also started today. As many as 5,41,247 students are writing the annual examinations at 3,218 examination centers spread across the state.
The Board has set up 316 nodal centers for smooth conduct of the examinations. The Board has also constituted 74 teams for surprise checking at the examination centers. The exams started at 8 AM with students reaching the centers one hour before. They are allowed to bring with them only Blue and Black Pens, pencils and Geometry Box. All the officials and teachers who need to be present during the examinations are debarred from carrying mobile phones. Keeping in mind the rise in temperatures, facilities for drinking water is being made in all exam Centers.
