Bhubaneswar: The Supreme Court today accepted the petition filed by Odisha Government against Andhra Pradesh on issues related Kotia border dispute.
The State Government in its petition has urged for action against Andhra’s panchayat election in Kotia under Odisha’s territory.
The case has been filed against Chief Secretary of Andhra Pradesh, State Election Commission and the Collector of Vizianagaram.
Notably, the Odisha government had filed a writ petition earlier with the Supreme Court over Kotia inter-state border dispute in 1968.
The Supreme Court had ordered status-quo on the matter. The apex court also ordered to maintain status quo in its final judgment in 2006.
