Berhampur: As part of the Srimandira Parikrama Prakalpa Inauguration event that is scheduled to be held on the 17th of this month, four Arpana Rathas today rolled out from the Berhampur Municipal Corporation office. People in large numbers gathered with enthusiasm and donated Gua Chaula which will go the Prakalpa program in Puri. The Prakalpa Rathas will visit door to door in all the wards and collect Gua Chaula from the people.
A special program was organized at the BeMC office on this occasion which was attended by MP Chandra Shekhar Sahu, MLA Bikram Panda, Mayor Sanghamitra Dalai, Deputy Mayor Vivek Reddy, BeMC Commissioner J Sonal and all the Corporators. On the first day today, this chariot will visit from 8 am to 6 pm in ward numbers 1, 2, 15, 21, 33 and 34.
As a part of Ama Odisha Nabin Odisha, these Rathas will create awareness about Jagannath Culture among the people and make them aware to be part of the Puri Heritage Corridor Project. Devotees, especially women, were seen giving a grand welcome to the Rathas at various localities of the city with offerings of flowers, lighting of lamps and placing kumbhs. The collected Gua Chaula will be sent to Puri Prikrama Prakalpa program.
