Bhubaneswar: The Police Establishment Board of the Odisha Police Headquarters has transferred E Sankar Rao, Asst Sub-Inspector, Berhampur Police District, to Bhadrak on administrative grounds. In a single order notification, the Police Establishment has asked the concerned authorities in Berhampur to relieve Sankar immediately.
The controversial ASI was recently transferred from Bhanjabihar Police Outpost to Berhampur Police District Headquarters. There were allegations against Sankar Rao regarding his connections with the illegal sand mining and Sand Mafia of the district. There are also reports that senior officials of the District Police had earlier interrogated him in this regard.
