Athagarh BDO Arrested for Possessing Disproportionate Assets

Bhubaneswar: Odisha Vigilance on Thursday arrested Pradeep Kumar Sahu, Block Development officer (BDO), Athagarh in Cuttack district for possessing disproportionate assets.

In this connection, Vigilance Cell PS case has been registered against the BDO.

Based on searches conducted on properties of the BDO, he was found in possession of disproportionate assets including 2 buildings, 1 flat in Bhubaneswar, 3 plots, deposits over Rs.47 lakhs, cash wroth Rs.6.11 lakhs, gold approx 452 gms, 2 four wheelers etc, which he could not account for satisfactorily. Investigation continuing. Further report follows.

Earlier, the simultaneous house searches were being conducted by the Vigilance sleuths led by 6 DSPs, 6 Inspectors, 10 ASIs, and other supporting staff on the strength of search warrants issued by Special Judge, Vigilance, Bhubaneswar at the eight places in Bhubaneswar, Khordha, Nayagarh, and Athagarh (Cuttack).
