Balangir: Odisha Vigilance on Friday arrested a Section Officer in Balangir district for allegedly taking bribe of Rs 15000 from a person.
The official has been identified as Jugal Kishore Rout, Section Officer, Belpada Tahasil, Dist- Balangir.
He has been apprehended by Odisha Vigilance while demanding and accepting bribe of Rs.15,000 from a complainant for processing the file before the Court of Tahasildar, Belpada and to pass favorable order in favour of the complainant relating to a land dispute.
The entire bribe money has been recovered from Rout and seized.
Following trap, simultaneous searches are going on at two locations of Rout from DA angle. In this connection, Sambalpur Vigilance P.S. Case has been registered. Investigation is in progress against the Section Officer, the vigilance informed.
