Berhampur: The results of Grampanchayat by-elections for Biswanathpur in Rangeilunda Block of Ganjam are out. As expected, Basanti Das has won the bylections with a margin of 1146 votes defeating the nearest candidate Silpa Sethy.
While the total number of votes polled in the by-elections stood at 3160, Basanti got 2106 votes and Silpa got 960 votes.
The seat became vacant due to loss of majority in the no confidence motion.
