Bhubaneswar: A City Coordination Committee meeting for the proposed upcoming Elevated Rail Based Metro System in Bhubaneswar was held on Monday under the chairmanship of Bhubaneswar Development Authority Vice-Chairman Balwant Singh. The Committee members discussed about how to work in an integrated manner and provide all necessary support to the Detailed Project Report (DPR) preparation team. Among others, the meeting was attended by MD, IDCO, Addl Commissioner of Police, Commissioner Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation, officials from the Energy Department, GA Department, NHAI and CRUT.
Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik had on 1st April approved the Metro Rail Project for Bhubaneswar that will connect Biju Patnaik International Airport to Trisulia in Cuttack covering a distance of about 20 kilometers in the first phase. Later, the project will be expanded to Khordha and Puri.
