Berhampur: A mother and her two sons were arrested by Berhampur Police for allegedly selling brown sugar to to local youths in city.
The Badabazar Police seized 8.48 gram brown sugar during a raid at the rented house of Puja Pradhan (41) and her two sons Bikash Kumar Pradhan (19) and Akash Pradhan (22) at Raghupati Nagar, 2nd Line.
The Police also seized Rs 8,900 and three mobile phones.
The accused persons were selling contraband brown sugar to local youths @ 500 per one pouch.
Since last few months they have been dealing with such selling. The seizure of brown Sugar was done by Badabazar Police team in the presence of Executive Magistrate Rabindra Kumar Mishra, Tahasildar, Berhampur, informed Berhampur SP Dr. Saravana Vivek M.
All accused persons were forwarded to the court. Further investigation is going on to identify the source of procurement of seized brown sugar, he added.
