Berhampur: Cops Prevent Robbery Bid at Sea Beach; Three Arrested

Berhampur: Timely action by Gopalpur Police Station under Berhampur Police District has prevented a robbery bid at sea beach.

Three robbers – Sunil (27) and Suman Gouda (21), both belong to of Lathi village under Berhampur Sadar PS, and Santa Mali (21) of Antrava village under Adava PS, Gajapati were arrested by the police.

Police also seized a car, sword, three mobile phones and cash worth Rs 4540 from the accused persons.

On January 24 at around 5.30 pm, the compliant Aryana Pattanaik of Hatibandhasahi under BN Pur PS, was visiting Gopalpur-on-Sea, the three accused persons came in a car armed with sword and stopped him near Haripur Bridge junction. They had attempted to commit robbery from Pattnaik by putting him under threat of life showing sword, the police informed.

At the sight police vehicle, the accused persons fled from the spot leaving Pattanaik.

During course of investigation, the accused persons were identified and arrested. They have been forwarded to court, stated Berhampur SP Dr. Saravana Vivek M.

Sunil was involved in other crimes and he was absconding before.
