Berhampur Police Arrests Six Persons for Stealing at Shopping Mall 

Berhampur: Berhampur Police arrested six persons for allegedly stealing a mobile phone and money purse of a lady customer at the shopping mall in the city.

The accused persons belong to Kerala. They have been identified as Akash P. Shiva(22), Kunnmakulaman village, Thissur district; Sarath MS (23), Anjoor village, PS- Muthil, Vadakekad district; Jithin MM(22), Manikandath House village, PS-Kandannaserry, Palakkad district; Mahesh(21), Changaramakulam village, Thrissur district; Ajith.P (27), Ptupparamil House village, PS-Perumpadappu, Malappuram district and Hariharan P(28), Marancheri village, PS-Puthuparambil, Malppuram district.

According to police, Branch Manager of -Mart Shopping Mall, Berhampur reported that a mobile and a money purse with cash of Rs. 9,300 of a lady customer was stolen in the shopping mall on September 19.

During investigation, the police found that accused persons Akash P. Shiva, Sarath MS, Jithin MM and Mahesh entered into the shopping mall and stole the articles reported stolen other two persons namely Ajith.P(27) and Hariharan P(28) were keeping a watch from outside.

All the stolen articles have been recovered and the accused persons were arrested and forwarded to the court.

The accused persons belonging to Kerala and had come to Berhampur and were staying at a private lodge in Berhampur since September 16. Further investigation is going on to verify the character antecedents of the accused persons, informed Berhampur SP Dr. Saravana Vivek M.
