Berhampur: P Biswanath Patra, a Class XI student of Kendriya Vidyalaya, Berhampur interacted with Russian President Vladimir Putin about his smart water dispenser project at the First Russia-India Educational Program at the SIRIUS centre in Sochi, Russia.
Biswanath was one of the 25 Indian students participated at the seven-day Science Technology and Innovation Program on ‘Big Challenges in Sustainable Development’ jointly organized by NITI Aayog’s Atal Tinkering Labs and Russia’s SIRIUS Educational Foundation.
The Berhampur student attended the ‘Deep Technology Educational program” under the topic “alternative energy sources” and his performance in the program was outstanding.
Biswanath briefed his ‘Smart Water Dispenser’ project to the Russian President Vladimir Putin at the program.
The project aims at solving the problem of water crisis by motivating, controlling, distribution management and smart monitoring of water.
The Russian President has highly appreciated the child and expressed that he was very excited to see such talents from India.
Notably, a group of 25 student innovators and 5 teachers from ATL schools across the country, selected from the top 100 teams of AIM’s Atal Tinkering Labs Innovation Marathon 2018, participated in the Science Technology and Innovation Program held from November 29 to December 5, 2019.
Biswanath’s project is selected among top 100 innovations in the country in the month of July 2019.
The project is further shortlisted as top 50 innovations and featured in the website of Atal Innovation mission in the month of August 2019.
Earlier, Biswanath’s project was appreciated by BeMC Commissioner and The Executive Engineer PHD, Berhampur for its future application for the water distribution system in the municipalities.
Ganjam Collector Vijay Amruta Kulange congratulated Biswanath for his achievement and wished him a bright future.
