Berhampur: Berhampur-based Aga Street UPHC (Urban Primary Health Centre) has won the Kayakalp Awards 2019-20 for its dedicated efforts towards excellence in promoting cleanliness, high standards of hygiene, sanitation and infection control.
The prestigious award is given under National Health Mission. In Odisha, the award is decided by the Health and Family Welfare Department.
Aska Road UPHC and Baikuntha Nagar UPHC, both situated in Berhampur, have secured second position jointly in the list of 34 UPHCs in Odisha.
All seven UPHCs of Berhampur are placed within top 15.
The objectives of the Kayakalp Awards are to promote cleanliness, hygiene and infection control practices in public health care facilities.
The awards also aim to incentivize and recognize such public healthcare facilities that show exemplary performance in adhering to standard protocols of cleanliness and infection control.
