New Delhi: Bharat Biotech has commenced the human trial of its COVID-19 vaccine in Haryana.
“Human trial with Corona vaccine (COVAXIN) of Bharat Biotech started at PGI Rohtak today”, informed Haryana Health Minister Anil Vij.
Three subjects were enrolled for the trial. All have tolerated the vaccine very well. There were no adverse efforts, the Minister said.

COVAXIN, an inactivated vaccine, has been developed by the Hyderabad-based drug firm in collaboration with the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) and the National Institute of Virology (NIV).
It is the India’s fist COVID-19 vaccine candidate and has received the approval of the Drugs Controller General of India (DCGI) for phase I and II of human clinical trials.
Zydus Cadila has also got approval from authorities to conduct human trials for its anti-COVID-19 vaccine.
