Bhubaneswar: BJP leader and Bhubaneswar MP Aparajita Sarangi had refused to join the delegation of Biju Janata Dal (BJD) MPs who met two Union Ministers to press their demand for the withdrawal of draconian bylaws enacted by the National Monuments Authority (NMA) for Lingaraj temple, said BJD MP Anubhav Mohanty.
The BJD delegation met two Union Ministers of Parliamentary Affairs Pralhad Joshi and Arjun Ram Meghwal on Saturday demanding withdrawal of NMA bylaws for Ananta Basudeba and Brahmeswar temples in Ekamra Kshetra.
Kendrapara MP Anubhav Mohanty said that he has personally requested Aparajita Sarangi, who represents Bhubaneswar Lok Sabha Constituency, to join the delegation. However, she refused to join the delegation.
“Personally requested Bhubaneswar MP Mrs. Aprajita Sarangi to join us but she refused point blank. Regret @BJP4Odisha’s noncooperation in a purely non-political issue concerning Odisha’s honour & spiritual sentiments”, Anubhav tweeted.
