Bhubaneswar: The Bhubaneswar railway station has received ‘Eat Right Station’ for providing high-quality, nutritious food to passengers.
It has become the sixth railway station in the country to get the certificate after Chandigarh Railway Station, Anand Vihar Terminal Railway Station (Delhi), Chhatrapati Shivaji Terminus (Mumbai), Mumbai Central Railway Station (Mumbai) and Vadodara Railway Station.
The certificate was given the Bhubaneswar station after the conclusion of Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI) empanelled third party audit agency with ratings from 1 to 5.
Bhubaneswar station with a total of 29 food stalls got 4 star-rating. The 4-star rating indicates exemplary efforts made by the railway authorities at Bhubaneswar station in ensuring that safe and hygienic food is available to passengers.
All the catering stalls at Bhubaneswar station are provided with food license certificate and the vendors are having medical fitness certificate, according to an official statement of the East Coast Railway (ECoR).
