Bhubaneswar: As technology has been a major driving force behind the Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik’s transformative initiatives in State, the Odisha Government has given utmost priority to propel the growth of the Electronics & Information Technology (E&IT) sector with budget push.
In the 2022-23 financial year budget presented in the Assembly on Saturday, the State Government has allocated an outlay of Rs 302 crore to strengthen various areas of this vital sector.
The budgetary allocation includes Rs 132 crore for IT infra and connectivity, Rs 44 crore for promotion and facilitation of Electronics System Design & Manufacturing.
The budget also includes allocation of Rs 24 crore for Social Protection Delivery Platform.
With an aim to promote use of electric vehicles in Odisha, funds worth Rs 50 crore has been allocated for implementation of Electric Vehicle Policy.
Besides, the State Government has also allocated funds worth more than Rs 1000 crore to different departments for technology adoption.
As the budget is in line with the transformational agenda under “5T” and “Mo Sarkar”, the State Government has reaffirmed its thrust on technology, which is a force multiplier in the development programmes in the State.
