So far STF arrested as many as 39 drug peddlers.” He congratulated the STF for this success and said there is a link in the crime to Mushirabad in West Bengal and all efforts will be done to nab others involved.
The Magnitude of the such seizure will become evident from the fact that the total seizure of 2020 till date by STF alone is more than the total cumulative seizure made by Odisha Police ( All agencies of Odisha Police) in the last 06 years.
The three arrested persons are Debasish Behera, Sheikh Kausar Ali and Prabir Kumar of Balasore district. According to STF DIG J N Pankaj, the police team was tracking the drug mafia for the last few months and wanted to bust the racket with the contraband. The drugs peddlers were in desperate situation to sell the banned drugs as the lockdown had affected their incomes.
