Bhubaneswar: The Biju Janata Dal (BJD) always believes in non-violence and peace. There is no place for violence in peace-loving Odisha, said BJD Rajya Sabha MP Dr. Sasmit Patra here on Thursday.
Countering the BJP’s allegation of poll-violence, Patra said that the BJP is bringing baseless allegations due to fear of losing the elections.
He further said that a BJD candidate in Pipli was attacked by the BJP leaders and workers.
Why was the BJP silent on the incident of Union Minister Bishweswar Tudu’s attack on government employees in Mayurbhanj district, questioned the senior BJD leader?
The state BJP leaders are aware that the party is losing the ongoing panchayat elections. Hence, they are raising the poll-violence issue to save their face, Patra added.
