BJD to Hold Massive Protests against Unabated Fuel Price Hike

Bhubaneswar: Coming down heavily on the Centre over the unabated fuel price hike, the Biju Janata Dal (BJD) announced that it would hold massive protests against the spiraling fuel prices that putting hardships for the common people.

The Odisha’s ruling party will hold protests in all Assembly constituencies in the State from November 1, said the BJD leaders at a press meet here on Saturday.

The BJD will hold a protest near the Raj Bhavan here on October 31 and submit a memorandum to the President through the Governor, the party said in a statement.

The members of Biju Mahila Janata Dal, Biju Chhatra Janata Dal and Biju Yuva Janata Dal will stage protests over the rise in prices of cooking gas, pulses, and essential commodities.

The BJP-led Central Government has completely failed to control unprecedented fuel price hikes in the country. In the last two years, the prices have increased by more than 30% leading to the rising price of essential commodities, the BJD said.
