Bhubaneswar: The Biju Janata Dal will further strengthen its efforts for the development of Jharsuguda, said BJD President and Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik.
Congratulating the BJD workers and leaders for the party’s landslide victory in the Jharsuguda by-poll, Naveen said, “It is the victory of the women’s power of Jharsuguda. For this, I am indebted to the people of Jharsuguda. The Biju Janata Dal is indebted to the people of Jharsuguda”.
“I give a word today that the BJD will further strengthen its efforts for the betterment of Jharsuguda region. For Jharsuguda, the trend of development started by Nab Babu will be taken further”, the BJD supremo said while addressing the party workers and leaders at Sankha Bhawan on the occasion of celebration of Jharsuguda by-election victory.
Coming down heavily the opposition for their disrespect to women during the election campaigning, Naveen said, “In Padmapur, our woman candidate was disrespected in bad language. Be it Padmapur or Jharsuguda, every where they (opposition) have disrespected the girls who have lost their fathers. In every by-election, they have been criticizing Mission Shakti leaders, grassroots workers and mothers. History is a witness to it”.
People of Odisha have never tolerated such disrespect towards women, Naveen said.
He said, “Our daughters are our pride. Biju Janata Dal has always encouraged participation of women in public life. Mission Shakti has provided them a platform to speak strongly for their rights. Mission Shakti has empowered them by bringing them out of the four walls of kitchen room”.
Mission Shakti believes in this Ideology. Opposition parties have always been against women empowerment. This is a dangerous trend. The people of Odisha have always disliked such behavior, he added.
