BJP-Shiv Sena Tussle: Devendra Fadnavis Says No Promise to Sena on CM’s Post for 2.5 Years

Mumbai: The tussle between the BJP and Shiv Sena has been intensified with Maharashtra CM Devendra Fadnavis dismissing Shiv Sena’s demand of rotational Chief Minister in the State.

According to media reports, Fadnavis today said that the Shiv Sena was not promised the CM’s post for two-and-a-half years when the alliance was formalized before the 2019 Lok Sabha polls.

He also asserted that the Maharashtra government will be formed under BJP’s leadership and he will be the CM for another five years.

Meanwhile, senior Shiv Sena leader Sanjay Raut came down heavily on Fadnavis saying that Maharashtra CM is wrong when he says there was no 50-50 agreement.

He further said that the saffron party had assured for 50-50 sharing on CM’s post during Lok Sabha elections.
A decision in this regard was taken when Amit Shah met with Uddhav Thackeray at the Blue Sea banquets in Worli before the Lok Sabha elections, he said while adding that Shiv Sena is not demanding anything beyond its rights.

The BJP legislature party will elect its new leader on Wednesday, reports said.
