Bhubaneswar: The Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC) today declared Sundarapada area and Kapilprasad revenue village here as a Containment Zone following a 70-year-old male of Kapila Prasad Housing Board Colony Phase-II tested COVID-19 positive earlier today .
Meanwhile restrictions were imposed on entry of public into and exit of residents from this containment zone until further orders.
According to order issued by BMC Commissioner Prem Chandra Choudhury, “The area coming under the boundary – Sundarpada Municipality Hospital Squre to Kaluasuni Temple, Sundarpada Muncipality Hospital Square to Sarakantar New Culvert (Near Railway Track), Kaluasuni Temple to Tata Project SeTP and Tata Project SeTP to Sarakantar Culvert (New Railway Track) of Ward No 67 of Sundarpada area covering revune village of Ebaranga and Kapil Prasad is hereby declared as the containment zone.”
“No public shall be allowed be allowed to move into the containment zone and the inhabitants within the containment zone shall not move out. All the inhabitants with the containment zone shall strictly remain in home. All shopping establishments of whatsoever nature shall be closed immediately. The supply of essentials and medical requirements will be ensured through various teams formed by BMC,” the order stated.
Inhabitants can contact BMC AHO Dr Devikarani Dhamil (9437028945) for sanitation related activities, Kamaljit Das (9439431672) for supply of essentials and Dr Bijaylaxmi Panda (9337397134) for health requirements. Dr Subam Puhan (7978200059) has been entrusted for active surveillance.
Similarity, BMC also sealed areas from Pala Mandap Chhaka(Begunia) to Jadupur Village, Pani Tanki to Jadupur Village, Main road Auto Stand to Jadupur Village and Ambedkar Sikshya Kendra to Jadupur Village have been declared as another containment zone.
