BMC to Provide Doorstep COVID-19 Testing Facility for Differently-Abled Persons, Pick & Drop Service for Vaccination

Bhubaneswar: The Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC) has decided to extend doorstep Covid-19 testing and vaccination (pick and drop) facilities for differently-abled persons in its jurisdiction from Sunday.

This has been informed by BMC Commissioner Sanjay Kumar Singh while briefing the media on the COVID-19 situation in the capital city.

The BMC Commissioner said that differently-abled persons, who are unable to visit the vaccination centers, can avail of this service.

Mass testing will be conducted for them in several housing societies, he said.

The civic body has deployed 10 ambulances each in all the zones for this service. The differently-abled persons can call the helpline number 1929 for testing, following which the medical team will collect swab from their house. The team will pick them for vaccination and drop after the process, he added.

Notably, the BMC has already launched doorstep COVID testing of pregnant women and senior citizens.
