Bolangir: Sindhekela IIC Arrested for Taking Bribe

Bhubaneswar: Odisha Vigilance on Sunday arrested inspector-in-charge (IIC) of Sindhekela police station in Balangir district for allegedly taking bribe.

The IIC has been identified as Alok Kuamr Behera.

Behera has been apprehended by the vigilance sleuths for demanding and accepting bribe of Rs.25,000 from a complainant to help in a case registered against him in Sindhekela Police Station.

The entire bribe money was recovered from the possession of the IIC and seized in presence of witnesses.

Following the trap, simultaneous searches have been launched on the residential quarter of Behera at Sindhekela police station premises, parental house in Olatpur in Cuttack district and his office room at Sindhekela police station.

In this connection, a case has been registered with the Sambalpur Vigilance and further investigation in the case is continuing, the Vigilance said.
