Boudh: Block Education Office Ex-Head Clerk Convicted in Bribery Case, Sentenced to 3 Yrs Imprisonment 

Boudh: A fomer head clerk of Harabhanga Block Education Office in Boudh district was sentenced to three years of rigorous imprisonment after conviction in a bribery case.

Chaturbhuja Khamari, fomer head clerk of Block Education office, Harabhanga was convicted by special Judge Vigilance Phulbani following examination of 12 witnesses.

Khamari has been sentenced to 3 years of rigorous imprisonment (RI) and a fine of Rs 5000 and in default he will undergo 6 months of RI.

The head clerk had allegedly taken a bribe of Rs 5000 from one Kaushalya Tamukia of vilage- Bhabapur village under Harabhanga P.S of Boudh District in December 2019 for regularisation of family pension of her daughter- in-law Narmada Tamukia.

Khamari was caught red-handed by the vigilance sleuths. Berhampur vigilance PS case No. 33/19 & GR case No GR 16/19 u/s 7 Amended P.C Act. 2018 had been registered against him.
