Jharsuguda: The State Election Commission (SEC) on Wednesday issued a notification regarding the conduct of by-election to the Brajrajnagar assembly constituency in Jharsuguda district.
The candidates can file nomination papers till May 11 from today. They can withdraw their nominations until May 17.
The scrutiny of the nomination papers will be held on May 12 while the by-elections to the Brajrajnagar Assembly seat will be held on May 31, as per the notification.
The counting of votes and declaration of results is scheduled for June 3.
The by-poll has been necessitated due to the death of sitting BJD MLA from Brajrajnagar Kishore Kumar Mohanty in December last year.
