BSF DG Calls on Odisha CM

Bhubaneswar: Rakesh Asthana, DG BSF called on Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik here today and appraised him about security scenario in Maoist infested areas where BSF is deployed in the State.

The Chief Minister has appreciated the efforts put in by BSF to contain the menace.
Earlier before coming to Bhubaneswar, Asthana visited naxal infested area of Malkangiri and Koraput along with S L Thaosen , ADG and Madhu Sudhan Sharma , IG Odisha Frontier BSF.

He visited COB Kartanpalli in Tulasi Dongri area and reviewed security situation . He interacted with officers and Jawan and appreciated their work.

He further visited newly established COB Gurasethu in Swabhiman Anchal . The officers took stock of the prevailing Left Wing Extremist scenario and response of the security forces to the Left Wing Extremism.
He discussed about the strategic and tactical deployment in the Swabhiman Anchal of Malkangiri and bordering areas.

Asthana applauded the troops for their role in completion of long pending Gurupriya Bridge . The officer deliberated on the problems faced by the security forces in matters of road connectivity , communication , logistics , etc. and means to overcome the difficulties.

He also interacted with villagers of Swabhiman Anchal and District officials and discussed the latest scenario and developmental work in the region.

He appreciated the coordinated effort of state machineries , that brings the developmental projects to full swing in the Swabhimaan Anchal and assured that BSF takes it as privilege to be part of such projects by giving security coverage and making it a success for the people of the state .
