New Delhi: The Union Cabinet on Wednesday approved Official Amendments to the Aadhaar and Other Laws (Amendment) Bill 2019.
The Central Government has decided to make Aadhaar as identification document so that people can avail the benefit of state subsidies directly in their bank account and to eliminate middlemen, said Information and Broadcasting Minister Prakash Javadekar after the Cabinet meeting.
Currently, there are around 128 crore Aadhaar cardholders in the country.
