Bhubaneswar: Following the footsteps of Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik, many personalities who are in public life and serving the common people in Odisha, celebrated the New Year in different ways. While some celebrated the dawn of the New Year with people who deserve the maximum, some tried to dedicate the New Year to environment. Be it politicians or the bureaucrats, many have joined the downtrodden and needy to bring in smile on their faces on the occasion of New Year.
Berhampur MLA, Bikram Panda made it a point to send a green message to the people by distributing more than a thousand saplings among people of Berhampur. Wishing a happy and prosperous New Year, he called for plantation and making the Silk City green again. His concern for the environment has been appreciated by one and all.
On the other hand, Ganjam Collector Vijay Amruta Kulange made it a point to visit the Shradha Sanjeevani childcare home in Gopalpur and spend the day with the inmates. He not only spent the day with the members of the child care, but also listened to their problems and issues. The members of the orphanage were so happy to find the Collector among them. In Subarnapur, Collector Monisha Banerjee distributed Sweets and Stationary products to the members of the CCI in Subarnapur. Her act of compassion and care has been well appreciated by the people of Subarnapur as the member were very happy.
