Bhubaneswar: The chances of COVID-19 infection can not be ruled out even after taking the vaccine, said Odisha Health Services Director Bijay Mohapatra.
There is no conformity that being vaccinated will eradicate the chances of COVID-19 infection, he said while adding that various vaccines work within 70 to 90% of cases.
Vaccination can help in developing the body’s immune system. However, the chances of corna infection cannot be ruled out, he stated.
In Odisha, there are cases of people getting infected by the virus even after taking a double dose of the vaccine.
The State Government has set up a technical committee to look into the matter, the Health Director said.
The Government is prepared to tackle the possible third wave of the pandemic, he added.
He also urged everyone to follow Covid appropriate behaviour.
