Bhubaneswar: Odisha Chief Secretary Suresh Chandra Mahapatra and Secretary to CM (5T) VK Pandian today arrived in Keonjhar district to review progress of various developmental projects.
The top officials visited the mega Kanpur Irrigation project being developed on the Baitarani river near Basudebpur under Joda block of the district.
The project is expected to immensely benefit the people of Keonjhar.
Upon completion, the Rs 2438 crore project will irrigate 48,000 hectares of land in 238 villages and two lakh farmers in the villages in the district.
The Chief Secretary and 5T Secretary reviewed the progress of the project and held discussions with the concerned officials.
Additional Chief Secretary, Department of Water Resources Anu Garg and Keonjhar Collector Ashish Thakare were present during the discussion.
They also reviewed other development projects in the district, according to reports.
