Chief Secy Urges All Departments to Support Skilled-in- Odisha Mission

Bhubaneswar: Chief Secretary Pradeep Kumar Jena on Friday urged all the departments to support the Skilled-in-Odisha mission by helping in organising a grand Odisha Skill conclave event.

Addressing the meeting of the Principal Secretaries and Secretaries of the State held at World Skill Center, the Chief Secretary acknowledged the efforts of WSC and OSDA to develop the Skilled- in- Odisha mission as one of the best in the country.

Jena suggested cross department support and request all the other departments to support the Skilled-in- Odisha mission by helping in organising a grand Odisha Skill conclave event.

The CEO of WSC Alka Misra welcomed all the distinguished guests and introduced them to the objectives and vision of WSC.

Principal Secretary SDTE Usha Padhee gave a pre-presentation on Skilled- in-Odisha conclave which is going to be held at Kalinga Stadium on 20th-22nd April 2023. She requested all the Principal Secretaries and Secretaries of the departments to be a part of the skill conclave, which will be one of its kind in the country.

The key highlight of the event was the Chairman OSDA & World Skill Center, Subroto Bagchi’s speech on Skilled-in- Odisha mission, vision and objectives.

Bagchi touched upon every key aspects of the skill ecosystem such as, career counselling for students at school level, transforming the quality of education in Govt. ITIs and Polytechnics, creating roles models by highlighting the success stories of WSC students who have gone global, implementation of skill development in the area of Agriculture( World Agri-techcenter), skilling SHG members of Mission Shakti and empowering them with enterprising skills, making Odisha Skill conclave a one of its kind event in the world, impacting 6 lakh SC/ST students by skilling them upto the global standards, introducing short-term course across all domains and streams, collaborating with high quality employers and going beyond conventional skilling.
